It does tend to get a kind of grind'ish, but you can use flags for increasing free XP and unlock ships that way. They're mostly good for credits and captain training. Honestly, there's only a handful of premium ships which are really dominant. I've only bought a couple with real money, and the others I've unlocked via coal (I only use the coal containers from daily XP) or some other in-game reward. I don't pay for premium time (why the hell would I pay for game time when I'm not even home to play?) and I have a handful of premium ships. WoWS isn't near as bad as WoT is in terms of pay to win. Yes, the merchandise is this game is stupidly overpriced. You still need to grind or you will only ever be able to play your premium ships. Nothing you can buy is any better than tech tree ships and if you buy ships it does not prevent a grind. Am I missing something? Or is this a really common complaint about these games (Warships and Tanks).I thi I'm sure I cannot be the only one to feel this way. However, I feel like I either pay like this or grind to death. Maybe I should get a premium membership 30 days =9.99. 400 gold = 5.00.Once I do that I will still be short 4mil in credits.to cover that it's 9.99. Im working on a tier VI Cruiser.(New Orleans).I have roughly 56k left in experience before I can unlock it.I have plenty of Elite XP I can convert.but guess what. Just not sure how the developers can justify it.I know they need to make money I get it.A small purchase here or there from the community but it seems wayyyyyy too much $$$įor instance a tier V Ship is 10,000 doubloons which is $39.99 in real world money.Everything seems to be locked behind a pay wall or you will have to grind forever.I've heard these premium ships dominate at all tiers.

I've been playing the console version lately but since the marketplace is similar on the PC version, I need some help understanding how this is not "Pay to Win" model.Maybe its more like a "Pay to Avoid Grinding" Model.įirst of all I really enjoy the game and will to continue to do so.However, the cost of the marketplace seems INSAAAAAAANE to me.
